Mentors Needed: Engineering Summer Bridge Program
Help encourage high school juniors and seniors from Channel Islands and Hueneme High Schools by serving as a mentor in the speed mentoring activity during the 2019 Engineering Innovation Summer Bridge Program, hosted by CSU Channel Islands and Oxnard Union High School District. STEM professionals are needed for a speed mentoring event on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 10 am to 12 pm at the CSU Channel Islands campus. This amazing opportunity pairs a small group of high school students with a STEM professional in order to provide them with vital mentoring information about STEM college and career pathways. You do not have to be an engineer to participate in this speed mentoring session.
The Engineering Innovation Summer Bridge Program is a joint effort between Oxnard Union High School District and CSUCI with support from Bank of America, Pentair Foundation, and Arconic Foundation. Come out and help inspire the next generation of STEM professionals!

Who They Are Looking For
They are looking for STEM professionals from across a broad range of science disciplines to participate as STEM mentors during the Speed Mentoring Activity. You do not have to be an engineer to participate in this mentoring opportunity.
Requirements
This opportunity requires the volunteer to provide information about their STEM career as well as their STEM college and career pathway.
Commitment
Two hours of time spent on short, focused conversations about specific questions related to your STEM career and pathway with high school students. These conversations involve a small group of mentees (2 – 4 high school students) interacting with a STEM mentor. Mentees rotate to several mentors to obtain a diverse perspective on STEM pathways.
